Australia

Our happy and excited faces to embrace Australia.
It was a memorable trip, indeed. My first ever trip with my own friends in a cold chilly country. We could literally exercise without prespiring at at all. I remembered we would do jumping jacks, planks and all sorts of exercises nightly cause we felt so fat due to the excess intake of food. (buffet for every single meals can you imagine). So we were there for 8 days but seems like time did not do us justice cause it went by way too fast.

For the first day, we were at Moreton Bay, with an unprecedented event where Raina and I were separated from Rebekah and Crystal without having any means of contact at all and we were in the middle of the desert. We were supposed to enjoy the sandboarding with all the sand dunes and slopes to thrill and excite us, gushing of adrenalines but we were too worried. However all matters were resolved and we rode on this four wheel drive around the island, catching the beautiful sunset in the midst of our adventure, really an unforgettable scenic view. To end off the day, we fed the dolphins at night with bare clothings (tanks and shorts in 10 degrees weather) that we were freeezing to the core and hungry that we gobbled up the food in an instant. Oh ya, to add on, aussie has the best yogurt and potato wedges ive ever eaten in my life.

Second day, we were brought back to Brisbane and head off to Paradise Country to experience the Aussie farm life. I had the chance to hug a Koala which is the most adorable thing ever. Where afterwards we proceded to Harbourtown shopping centre and I did not shop much (probably it was the second day and I was hesitant to spend my money just yet) We stayed over at Seaworld resort and they really do have the best buffet dinner I must say with the wide array of desserts and meals provided for all of us. Imagine rocky road brownie, sticky date pudding, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, gooey chocolate cake. We had a long walk to Marina Mirage where we stopped by Max Breners but did not eat anything cause we were too full though the things looked too good to be true.

Third day, we visited Seaworld and had a privilege of witnessing how dolphins are trained. But before i begin, as the saying goes " the day isnt complete without a good breakfast" so I must say I had the best breakfast anyone could ask for. Honeyed yogurt muesli, scrambled eggs with sausage and hash browns. I could really melt and with the help of my kind friends they brought back 20 packs of sachet muesli from the breakfast place for me (this has became our joke since then). Seaworld was alright cause Ive been here before and everything seems the same so we left early and went to try "Peter's fish market" supposedly the best fish and chips in town. And we proceeded to Australian Fair to go to Woolworths for grocery shopping, supermarket is our favourite place apparently and the only store that opens up to 9pm. We were there till late that we could not find a cab back so we decided to embark on our 2-3 hours walk back to the resort, only finding ourselves to stop at this park to play a childhood game of swing and racing cars. SO FUN. But through our walk back, a bunch of imbecile caucasians screamed at our ears intending to shock us but its just too bad we kept a straight face but SERIOUSLY.

Fourth and fifth day we spent it in Movieworld and Dreamworld where all the fun begins. I came by movie world before and my favourite ride is still the Superman where the ride begins with a catchy statement "we will go superman fast" and it is really that fast. Thank God my buddies are all a fan of rollercoaster so we spammed everything and just sat back and enjoy our adrenaline rush. In dreamworld, there was this ride called the tower of terror and we sat right in front for the first time and experience our G force hahahahaha our faces were sagging pieces of meat. And i ate two huge scoops of ice cream thanks to Rai/Reb's comment of " buy 1 scoop 4.90 buy 2 scoops its 5.90 might as well buy two" But dreamworld i must say is for the bold and crazy the rides were spinning everywhere i gave up after 2 crazy rides of Pandamonium and The Claw which were wild enough for me. We went to the Skypoint, the highest tower overlooking Brisbane, really beautiful view from a great height and we ended off the fifth night at Infinity where we explored the world of mystery in darkness, it was too creepy and far from my liking but worth the try i guess? And we explored the night market by the beach too which was interesting and a totally different concept from Singapore's.

Sixth was our free day, we started the day by eating at Pancakes in Paradise and continued doing our shopping at Pacific Fair. Crazy spending cause i bought 10 clothings in just one shop and a few more in others, but honestly, theyre much cheaper than singapore it perplexes me cause their standard of living is supposed to be higher i thought?  Reminded me of the times i had in USA two years back. I had a really good lunch i remembered, of eating brown rice salad mixed with pumpkin and black soy chicken (reminds me of california pizza kitchen's superb salad) plus a white chocolate butterscotch muffin, sounds sinful but really good. We were tired by 4pm that we cabbed back to the hotel and slept for a few hours (must be all the fatigue from the theme parks). Had our dinner at Chelle's i must say the Italian food there is good, with a good portion of Ravioli and Risotto.

And lastly it was a saddening departure back to Singapore on the last day, we were so afraid that our luggage was overweight that we handcarried alot of things. But thank God all was fine. So to end of this post, look at our shrek twinny shirts and our epic faces. I love you girls from infinity and beyond. We can sit and talk about the crappiest stuffs, bask in each other's silence, rejoice for one another's good news and grieve for the bad circumstance too.
